Samuel Nana Adjei, professionally known as SammySolça (SOL), is a Ghanaian multidisciplinary artist, designer, and storyteller whose work spans fashion, fine art, illustration, animation, and world-building.

His creative journey was shaped by an unconventional beginning in Ghana, where art became more than a discipline but a way to understand identity, resilience, culture, and possibility. Rather than pursuing separate creative careers, he has spent years building a single creative universe expressed through multiple forms, each connected by one vision.

DopeByDefault is the first expression of that vision. More than a fashion brand, it is a philosophy and an evolving creative universe where African craftsmanship, mythology, culture, and contemporary storytelling converge to inspire originality, purpose, and fearless self-expression.

From Accra to the world

Born in Ghana and raised in an orphanage, Samuel Nana Adjei’s journey began without many of the advantages or support systems that shape most lives.

Yet within those circumstances, he discovered art, not simply as a creative outlet, but as a way to understand the world, preserve memory, and imagine a future beyond his immediate reality.

Over the years, that pursuit evolved into a lifelong commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling, and originality. Today, every creation reflects the journey from those beginnings to a broader creative vision. One that honors African culture while speaking to a global audience.

DBD-The Story

DopeByDefault began as a personal creative experiment long before it became a fashion brand. It was born from a desire to create work that carried meaning and unique pieces shaped not by trends, but by story, craftsmanship, and identity.

Working by hand, Samuel began combining leather, fabric, paint, and symbolism to create garments that felt less like clothing and more like living works of art.

Each piece became an exploration of memory, culture, and self-expression, drawing inspiration from Ghanaian heritage, music, fine art, mythology, and contemporary design.
